Il Divo entered the Billboard list at No.1 this week with their album Ancora. They have recorded "You Raise Me Up" in Spanish (Por Ti Seré) for the American edition of the album.

GEORGE BEST
The family of football legend George Best requested You Raise Me Up to be performed at the funeral in Belfast on Saturday December 3rd. Brian Kennedy, who first recorded the song with Secret Garden and who is a fellow native of Belfast, sang the song at the ceremony. The performance at the funeral was recorded and released on CD and consequently reached the #4 position in the UK charts. We're deeply honored that our song was used for this sad, but very special event.

NOBEL PEACE PRIZE
On December the 11th Secret Garden appeared with Westlife performing You Raise Me Up on the special Nobel Piece Prize concert from Oslo. The TV program was transmitted throughout the world - some places live, others as a recorded version - i.e. in the States.

ASCAP AWARD
On the 29th of November Rolf received an ASCAP award (American Copyright organization) recognizing the success of You Raise Me Up. The hit song, co-written by Brendan Graham, has been performed on American radio 660.000 times, which makes it one of the most popular songs in the US for 2004. The incredible list of cover versions increases by the week... now there are 125 different recordings of the song.
WESTLIFE
The most recent recording of You Raise Me Up is by the Irish pop-band WESTLIFE. For those of you outside Europe who are not familiar with the group they are the most successful pop band in the UK by their 14 no 1 singles in the UK-chart. They chose You Raise Me Up for their new single and went straight into the top position in the UK yet again. In Ireland the band has held the top position for an impressive 5 weeks now. Rolf says in a comment: 'We´re very impressed with Westlife's version. The are the first pop-group to cover the song, and they bring it out to a new generation of listeners. It's a great performance. The American Chistian group SELAH has recently achieved official Platinum award for album sales 1 million in the US. Their single and CMA nominated song is You Raise Me Up. Secret Garden would like to congratulate on their success!

ESTLIFE Releases Single of Rolf Lovland’s ”You Raise Me Up”'
Westlife has announced on their website that they will release Rolf Lovland’s “You Raise Me Up” as the band’s first single from their new CD-album, “Face to Face”. The worldwide release is scheduled for October 24th. Rolf Lovland wrote and recorded “You Raise Me Up” in 2001 with lyricist Brendan Graham for Secret Garden’s release of the same year, “Once in Red Moon” with the voice of the Irish vocalist Brian Kennedy gracing the song. Since then “You Raise Me Up” has been recorded by 100 different artists worldwide and has sold an estimated 15 million copies even before Westlife’s coming release. needless to say, Rolf is totally thrilled!
